Due Date Club December 2005:archie a question again

Name: susmitha

Hi archie,
thanks for the advice on breastfeeding. I think most are in same phase like me the baby drinking only 10min within 2h duration or asking for more sometimes. When we went last friday Siddharth gained 2oz and this thursday we have to go again. I hope he gains his birth wt of 6.4oz by that time.
The reason I'm bothering you again is
Yesterday he had 5poops in which 2 are like normal and 3are very little . And today also he had 3poops little. should I be concerned or is that normal. The poops are very little. My mom says he got cold so it'll happen like that. Please advice me on this is something I ate . Yesterday I ate banana which I usually don't eat and also sweet. I'll wait for your response.

Susmitha,
Siddharth is doing great. His bowel movements or stool amounts is perfectly normal. You may notice sometime just a tint of stool or foamy appearance to diaper and that's not a concern. It all depends on your eatings. As long as he does not pass very hard stool and that cry while bowel movement due to hard stool all is well.

Sushmitha, its very normal for breastfed infants to poop like this...my saachi has a little poop at almost every diaper change and my older one was also like that..it should be yellowish nd runny after a week.
10 min at a timeis fine too...he will gain his weight ...just relax and enjoy his daily antics!!!

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
