Due Date Club November 2003:Walking helps
2003-11-05

Hi Pals
with only few days for our D days ,walking really helps incase if our babies havenot engaged it helps , if already engaged it helps babies to further come down , the pressure releases labour hormones like oxytocin . so everyday atleast around 30 mts walking will help .
After my restless nights and no sleep i am doing walking an hour before bed and i really sleep like a log these days ...

After my appointment yesterday doc says my cervix is softened but not dilated so it might happen any day kind . I wish there is some way to tell us when is the little one coming

Take care u all , keeping fingers crossed for all of us
Preethu

I want to walk but cant cause when I do it for more than 10 mins, I have to suffer the whole night with pelvic pain...
I took my parents out to the mall over the weekend and walked for an hour and I had the hardest, most painful time for one whole day... :(

so all I've been doing since the first of this month (since I got off of work) is sit on my behind and watch TV..

but I was planning on trying to do more of the walking from now on...cause like you Preetu, I cant sleep at night...

Like u said, my fingers are crossed for all of us....

Hi Simmi and Preethu,

I am also walking for 2 hours everyday. My baby's head is engaged since last few weeks but effacement is not progressing as it should. So, before she asked me to walk for only an hour and now she asked me to walk for 2 hours everyday. It was very painful specially on my legs and feet in the beginning but now I am used to it. Imagine all this weight on your feet! My husband and my mom are on my back for walking, they also want to see the baby earlier now.
I am already tired and want to go into labour also. I hope the d-day comes soon now. It's hard to keep patience now. But, lets see what happens. Sometimes I feel like asking my doc to induce me.

Take care all of you, few more days for us.

Arshiya

hey girls,

Thanks for all the labour vibes. Ya, I only walk for about 45 mins to 1 hour at a time. My back gives up after that. I do 1 hr in the morning and 1 in the evening. And, by end of each hour I feel overexerted so I stop. Avi, also it gives me more of the pelvic pain at night for sure but I try not to sleep on the side and that helps me a lot. I usually sleep on my back and that gives me relief on my pelvic.
I am enjoying my days with my mom, but just like Avi, I am also used to being alone so kinda adjusting to all that.

Take care
Arshiya

HI Arshiya. Glad to hear u r doing the walking ritual regularly.....hope u don't do 2 hrs together, dont' want to over exert urself, just in case u start labour. I hope u r able to break up the walk time, and do 1 hr sessions each. This way the exercise works and u don't over exert urself too. Don't know what the doc says, but I can't do more than 45 mins to an hr walking....but well done to u. Keep it up.
Sending wishes for a delivery soon!

Hi Arshiya,

How are you doing the two hours walking, with all the weight you have to carry. Good for you and the baby, also good for your husband and mom. They are getting good exercise. Hope the effacement & dilation progresses and you deliver soon.

Good luck,
Vindhya

Hi Preethu. I am walking around 45 mins everyday too. But soon I'll be off work and then how much enthu I have to go for walks, remains to be seen. Hope the weather here holds out and don't rain, then I will go for my walks and hope for what you are suggesting.
Thanks.

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
