Due Date Club July 2005:not crawling yet?

Hi friends,
My baby girl, born in July 05, is 10 months now, but she shows no interest in crawling. She has been sitting without support since she was 5 months old and started rolling over from back to tummy when 7 1/2 months. She has no interest in being on tummy, I didnt force her either. Now, she creeps backwards (she has been doing this for past 1 1/2 month), comes on all fours sometimes and then cries. She loves to stand though, she will be standing for atleast 1/2 hr and moves from one end of furniture to other. Also, she moves around the floor while being seated.. She hasnt started pulling up or sitting up on own. She is 95 percentile in ht and wt... Is there anything to worry about. Is there anything I can do to teach her how to crawl. As such she is a very intelligent girl with good observing and communication skills.
Also, are walkers helpful.
I am bit concerned..
love to all kids

Hi Girls
Dont worry about this milestone this is one milestone where it is normal if not developed. Some babies never crawl they just start walking and miss that phase so it is o.k.

Sonal,

i hear you loud and clear. Anushka is exactly like your baby. She is 10 months old, and has just started to crawl on her tummy since two days. She is not completely on her knees, she just pushes ahead with her legs, on her tummy. She had always hated tummy time. She would cry and cry. She comes on her fours now, turns around on the floor just as you said. I always wanted Anushka to crawl and just seeing her push ahead after such a long time is also a pleasure. Sonal, i think all babies eventually learn wat they hve to when its the right time for them. I would not believe that pushing them in any way will help. I am so glad to hear my exact same complaints from another parent.

Regards,
Sheetal

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
