#1 Keep it clean
Get a good cleansing product. there are many good facial cleansers on the market. what you use it up to you but try to get something that can help remove acne & pimples.

# Keep it toned
Toning helps to keep the skin clear and firm. Astringents and toners with glycolic or alpha hydroxy acids work the best for toning the face. These acids actually can reduce the pore size, and help avoid ingrown hairs. They are aggressive and have quick results.

#3 Treat you skin
All types of skin need to be exfoliated. This is the removal of dead skin cells that form daily. This is an essential part of skin treatment so look for a nice scrub directed especially at oily skin.

#4 Protect your skin.
Here are the key techniques:

-Avoid over exposure to the sun.
Sun damage leads to hyperpigmentation (brown spots). Excessive exposure can also exaggerate and thicken fine lines. Use an SPF 15 sun cream or higher on all exposed skin, especially on your face.

-Stay in shape.
Exercise increases oxygen to the tissues which keeps skin looking young.

-Eat right.
Keep vitamins such as C and E in your diet regimen.

Everything in moderation.
Too much of anything is never a good idea. Stay away from too much alcohol, smoking, fatigue and stress. Not only can these factors lead to premature aging; they also decrease facial circulation making you look older.

I dont buy commercial products so here are a few of the things I like to use to keep my skin health

Tea Tree Oil-it has an anticeptic quality to help with pimples. swab face with it and rinse

Chamomile tea-use chilled it makes a lovely anticeptic rise.

Egg Mask-beat 1 egg while with a few drops of orange or lemon juice, apply to face, allow to dry and rise off with cold water. it helps firm skin

Hydrogen Peroxide(8% or lower)-swab with a cotton bud. It detoxes by adding oxygen to the skin

Honey-apply some to skin, wait and rinse. it is a very nice moisuriser

Basil Tea-make a tea with 2-3 tspoons of basil leave. sab onto skin with a cotton bud. this is very good for scne & pimples

Honey Sugar Scrub-mix honey with sugar into a grainy mix and use to scrub and exfoliate skin. store unused portion in fridge. keeps skin glowing

My skin is always clear and I save a lot of money using ingredients i have at home. Also I am saving my skin from extra chemicals which helps reduce sensitivity. Keep your hair clean and off of your face by wearing it tied back. Change your pillow slip frequently and always clean make up off of skin before sleeping

Hi,

I am a licensed US Cosmetologist since 1981 and I have owned a salon for many years here in California. Acne is often hereditary but there maybe other underlying causes which need to be determined by a Board Certified Dermatologist. Even I with all my experience is not qualified enough to determine the cause.

I am sorry I cannot help your personally but here are the steps I would reccommend:
Step #1: Clear up your acne. Please see a Board Certified Doctor/Dermatologist who will recommend medicated acne treatments which should take about a year to complete. Always wash your face with cold water and follow a cleansing routine twice a day in this order: Cleanse, (use medicated soaps or liquids only) splash toner(astringent) to close the pores, apply moisturizer or sun block/sun scren (lotion, not a cream base), then you may apply light make-up with or without a foundation. Your doctor will reccomend medicated products and foundations for your skin type and color.

Step #2: With the advice of your Dermatologist, get facials once or twice a month for deep cleansing. Do not allow anyone other than your dermatolgist to squeeze out your zits or pimples because this will create irreversable scars. I know, because I have those scars.

Your doctor will reccomend a glycolic or retinoic product for you to use regularly so your skin can constantly dry out and 'shed' in order to allow new skin to grow which after awhile, should be almost (though not completely) as good as new.

If you need more detailed information about the above mentioned products, just write.

Hope this helps.
