Due Date Club December 2005:Archie and all - Question regarding India Trip

Hi Everyone,
I delivered a boy on 1st Nov. I am thinking to go to India for 25 days in Jan. By that time my son will be two and half moths. He is on breast feeding + pumping + formula. He is going to have his two moths shorts 10 days before our departure.
I am going to Ahmedabd,Gujarat. How will be the flight for him considering 22 hrs ......I also heard about the ear infection due to the air pressure whill taking off nad landing the plane?
DO you know someone has gone to a long trip with 2 months baby? Any suggestion?

Archie..I guess you have one with your 3.5 months son..Any suggestion from you? Honestly I am still confused about going...because everyone back home is saying about the masquitoes and other polution problems....

Thanks in Advance...

I have made a trip like this with my son too. He was 3 mos old. Ask the doctor to give u some eardrops, so he does not get much ear pressure and pain. Otherwise, u can nurse him or give him bottle or pacifier, it reduces ear pain, or give him a teething ring to chew on. Take lot of diapers and formula and change of clothes for both of u as things can get very messy. Once u land there make sure he gets a BCG shot immediately as that particular thing is in the air and babies r very vulnerable to it (babies in india get this shot before they r out of the hospital). Apart from these, u should not have problems as people r extra careful with new babies in India, u will be having the postpartum diet and make sure u have everything in boiled and filtered water. Don't worry, enjoy the trip back home and take full advantage of the \";maalish\"; facility both for u and the baby!!! Hope this helps... bye!
Luv, Siya

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
