Hi! I had my Doc. appt. yesterday. Baby is doing fine. The head is engaged. No dilation at all. Anyway, I have 2 more weeks until my due date. I thought I must have dilated atleast 1 cm because of the pressure.
I have one question. I have this severe itching on my tummy(uncontrollable). I am scratching my tummy atleast 3 to 4 times a day. Will my scratching harm/effect the baby? Will the baby be hurt if I am scratching like that? Let me know.

You seem to be right on track. The head has got engaged at the right time. Good luck, the baby might decide to come out anytime now.

Regarding itching, I haven't heard of it affecting the baby. It's more of a mother's problem. But, do talk to your doctor about it.

Glad to hear your update and that the head is engaged...well done! I'm sure the delivery will happen near due date too. Don't worry about dilation, sometimes it dont happen till you are actually in labour.

About itchy tummy, I am feeling it getting dryer by the day too. The cold weather here don't help neither. Trying to massage oil regularly, suggest you could do the same, or use vitamin E or coca butter creams. Apart from it adding to strech marks, I don't think it has any connection with the baby. So itching is completely safe as far as baby is concerned, however, to get some comfort try to apply some cream so the temptation is less then. Otherwise, make sure u have trimmed ur nails and try to wear cotton shirts and strach from above rather than direct skin contact, as direct contact makes the itching worse.
