2006-05-02
Name: Roshni

Hi July 2005 Moms,
I am Roshni from September 2006 board. I am due in first week of september, and planning to go to India in late october or early november. Please let me know what is the procedure of getting baby's passport and how long does it take to get the PIO and Passport?
I will appreciate if any of you could explain this.
Thanks,
Roshni

Hi Roshni,

as soon as you deliver, the hospital will give you a form that you need to fill and send after 15 days to the local registration office in order to get a birth certificate. Meanwhile, you will also get the social security card. Then you need to apply for the passport which normally takes 6 to 8 weeks. After which, you need to apply for a PIO card or a tourist visa for India. The entire procedure will take a minimum of 3 months. And its advisable to travel after 4 months so that your baby can get the 4th month shots. You then have a gap of 2 months coz the next shot will be at 6 months.

Good luck,

REgards,
Sheetal

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
