Hi Ria,
Sounds like you are going thur what I have been.
I came across a very easy recipie and I can assure you that your dosa will be so crispy and tasty that you will enjoy it.

Ingredients:
parboiled rice 4 cups
Udad daal 1 cup
some methi seeds.

soak daal and rice seperately for overnight. and then grind them into a paste but it shld not be fine.If you touch paste then you shld feel some fine rava.you can use little water to make paste.but paste should be thick.

Now put it in a Big vessel and place some place which is little hot so it can ferment well. for best result leave it overnight or 7 to 10 hrs.

after fermentation process you can add water if it needs. Now how to make sure whther it needs or not, when you take paste in spatula it shld cover back of spatula and when you try to pour it it shld be running paste.

Then heat your nonstick tava once tawa get heated make it to medium flame and don't change flame often and there is no need of using oil also. Now pour some paste and make a dosa now leave it after 30 40 sec as soon as dosa get ready it will start leaving tava from corners, try to make thin dosa by that you don't need to roast another side.

Hope you will enjoy this recipie.

Seriously I had very hard time infact i had taken that I can never make good dosas but now I am proud that I can make them too. I love cooking and I used to feel so frustrated when my dosas were not good.

I hope this will help you.
I stay in USA and if you too we can talk on phone and i can give you all help which I can provide.

Thanks
Neetu

take 1 cup of URAD DAL and add 3 cups of rice.soak them together in enough water. add 5 or 6 methi seeds,1 tsp rice flakes.allo them to soak for 5 hrs. grind it to a fine paste.that is ,grind it in the mixie till bubbles start forming. now keep this mixture in a vessel .better if you allow it to ferment for 5-6 hrs. then heat the dosa tawa. before putting the dosa ensure that tawa is very hot.put dosa on it add a few drops of oil.and allow it to be on hight flame till dosa turns light brown. then put on SIM flame.after a few min. turn on another side and roast.no need for oil for second side. by this way u will definetly succeed.

If you want to gain weight then you should not worry about it and eat 2 whole eggs everyday in any form like boiled or omelet. Too much of anything even if healthy, is not right and you should eat everything in limits. ... - Hardika [View Message]
