Sorry for not getting back to your messages earlier... I was really down yesterday after reading Deeps message...I've been hearing one sad news after another and its been quite overwhelming for me....

Anyways... Vindhya glad to hear that your appointment went ok..good luck with your strep b results... and hope the fundal height is fine too...dont worry about being induced - I am sure you wont be that far behind in the line.. :)

My mom and dad are doing alright.. the second part of your dream came true..:) I feel like a queen now, sitting around while she tends to me...Dad is trying to keep himself busy by playing tennnis and going for walks.....

Arshiya, hope you are feeling a bit better now.. your mom will be here in two more days and you will surely feel much better physically and mentally..

My appointment is tomorrow and since I wont have any internals, like Vindhya, hope it is pretty uneventful...

You guys take care....and stay good..

Hi girls. hope u don't mind me poking my nose in ur discussion. Well, since I was feeling much the same thought would share with u too. I felt very sad after reading Deep's message and yesterday night was so terryfying, baby didn't move and my tummy got tight like a rock and back and groin pain were making it worse. All pain together, I was not able to lie down. Hubby woke up with the sound of my discomfort and rubbed my back, I pressed by groin pain and after much struggle, felt bit of pain relief though no major movement. Then morning through the day time not much action. Evening time though after dinner, baby did move, I hope baby is keeping well.

Anyways, that wasn't what I wanted to alarm u about, I wanted to share that I have got baby clothes from 0-3 mths too, I've read that most newborn size clothes don't fit babies after the first mth, so getting a bit bigger won't be unwise.

For me though I am more concerned about getting snowsuit, sleepsuit and car seat cover, and guess what I don't get car seat cover, in which I can wrap the baby from indoors...in UK. We have much colder weather here but this is not there in no store. Found it in one French catalogue and might try to order it through that one. Hope it arrives in time. It is already 10 degrees here, dreading the winter ahead!!

Got my night gowns, velvet ones, mum sent with pockets and zip (easy feeding) so can start getting my bag ready, have to get pads and stuff and diapers too. Hopefully should do this before I finish work end of next week.

Apart from that spoke to mum and from what I gathered mum is not going back to work till next mth end, so doubt she will make a trip in Dec...so very sad in that respect but don't want to push her if she is not upto it.

Fingers crossed, we all will get through the final weeks and our babies will be safe and sound.
God bless.

Thank you Avi and Vidhya for ur loving words. After sharing my thoughts, I feel so much lighter and the fact that I have someone who can relate to the situation, the pain etc, makes it so much reassuring. I don't know how I would have coped without your loving support.
Spoke to the doc and she reckons that sometimes baby's movements disturb the uterus so the pain could have been caused by that. I have felt BH contractions before and very sure the pain I had was not false contractions. But for now, it is under control and hopefully all is well inside there. Haven't got check up done from doc, will do that on Monday morning now. Wish me luck.

Is Halloween a big thing in US, as seen in sitcoms on telly?? Wonder if u guys have trick a treat at ur door steps? What plan for friday then for halloween?

I heard Pinjar is a good film. Wonder if any of you is planning to see it? I hope I see it soon. Well, not an avid hindi film fan but when some good film comes, like to see it and with the baby coming soon, thought would make the most of the time on hand.

Take care.

Hi Simmi,

Sorry to hear about the panic you have gone through yesterday. Hope you spoke to your doctor about it. I am sure everything is fine with the baby.

I was hoping your groin pain had receded. Don't worry, you are almost there. It's less than 20 days to go.

Like Avi said, don't ever hesitate to join our discussion. If not for the time difference, we would be happily chatting with you.

The weather sounds way too cold. Hope you would add lot of layers to keep the baby warm. Get some warm sleepwears.

Hope you will start your maternity leave soon and take lots of rest.

Take care,
Vindhya

Hey Simmi, u dont ever need to hesitate when it comes to joining our discussions...
I totally understand how scary it would have been to read the message..and going through a tough night like you did must have been scary also... glad to hear that everything seems ok now... I am sure what you felt must have been a false contraction..and nothing to worry about..

Glad to hear that you have started packing your hospital bag..and I hope you get the car seat cover in time too.. I am ignorant as to what it is..I guess you will need it for the cold cold weather in UK ..
our weather here is quite tolerable and it's been unusually hot this year..

you are right about the new born sizes..getting just a few of them would be a better option...and like Vindhya, getting a variety of sizes is a good idea...

You made a good decision to give your mom her time to make the decision about when to visit you.. I am sure she will be with you in due time when she is ready, so cheer up....

I also am praying for all of us to get through the next few weeks safe and sound...and for all our babies to be healthy and happy....

Love
-Avi

Hey,

Just like you guys, I was also down yesterday reading deep's message, and was in tears.
Avi, great that your dad is keeping himself busy and enjoy your mom's food.

I am also just waiting for mom to come here and cook for me (specially guju), and I am sure I will feel better mentally and physically then.

I am feeling better than yesterday now. I called my doc yesterday and she asked me to take tylenol sinus, which I didn't want to take. I just wanted to avoid any medicines for this time, so my dear husband went online to babycenter and read about sinus and cold during pregnancy and got me Tea Tree oil and Eucalyptus oil to sniff in a paper towel. I guess that has helped me a lot and I am feeling much better now.

Vindhya, glad to hear that you are done with travel system, metrolite is pretty good one too. I also liked it.

I also bought some NB clothes, but I am not sure if those would be too big. I will get some premie once baby is born. I also bought very cute homecoming outfit for the baby in 0-3 size.
I just need to buy some NB diapers now.

Hi Arshiya,

I am glad you are feeling better today. Very nice of your hubby to go online and search for the appropriate solution. It's good to avoid medications as much as possible.

I haven't yet bought a home coming suit, need to do it pretty soon.

Arshiya, glad to hear that you are feeling much better... I would be hesitant to use any medicine too..you made a good decision to try and do without them..
I bought a couple of cute coming home outfits too (0-3 month)..hope they are not too big...

Anyways.... now we're just left with the waiting game...and dealing with impatience..
and I pray that all our babies get through the next few weeks safe and sound and come out healthy and happy...

Take care

Hi Avi,

Yesterday, I felt down too after reading Deep's message. It shouldn't have happenned. I had so many questions as to how it could have been avoided, but then God always has other plans. She will definitely be blessed with a beautiful baby soon.

It's good that your dad is occupied, otherwise it would have been little boring for him. For moms, they'll never feel bored and once the baby arrives, you all wouldn't have any time to get bored at all. Enjoy her cooking.

Did you complete your shopping? We bought the Metrolite stroller and snug ride infant car seat. Did you get your car seat fixed?

Good luck with your appointment tomorrow.

Hope Arshiya is feeling better today.

Vindhya

Too bad about not being able to get the check done on weekends... At Berkeley PD, there is only one officer - Officer Rollins and he does only one check a day from 12 to 1 pm and only on Tuesdays thru Fridays...So if we cant find other alternatives we will have to go with him... Will keep you updated if I have any luck...

I was planning on buying some premie outfits too...I will wash the 0-3 month ones and see if they shrink a bit first...cause yes, they do seem like they are for 9 pound or more babies...

I bought a bassinnet at babiesRus, so not planning on getting crib till baby outgrows the bassinett...but the ones at babiesRus were soooooo cute...
was tempted to get one...but no place at home..

Avi,

I was about to ask you the same about the safety check on weekends. Even we were planning to go to Berkeley PS. Weekday is very inconvenient.

You know what, someone told me to buy clothes that were for 6 months babies. They are way too big. You won't believe, I even bought a 12 months one. I agree with you, 0-3 months ones also seem big. I guess, we'll have to buy some premie ones as well.

For diapers, I bought the NB size.

Are you going for a crib. One of my co-worker has given me a bassinet, so I'll use that for sometime and then decide.

Vindhya, glad to hear that you are done with the travel system.. I liked the Metrolite system too..
Berkeley PD has the safety check available only tuesday thru Friday and hubby has been busy lately..so we havne't had the chance to get the check done...
Let me know if you have any luck with getting it done over the weekend...a weekend would be so much more convenient for us..

I did buy some newborn outfits but mom says they may be too big for the baby.. I bought the 0-3 months kind...
The onesies seem to be fine..but the outfits sure seem kinda big.. We have to look for smaller ones..

I felt the same about what happened to Deep... I wondered if there was a way this could have been avoided...but what you said is true, its something beyond our control...

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
