hi guys,
i have a news to share with u all.on sat i thought i almost had my baby.actually went twice to the hospital.it was a false contraction.felt very sad when i had to return home with empty hands.on mon had an appt with the doc he said he will induce the pains if i cannot wait till duedate.he left the choice to us.so i just want some suggestions about that .
should i wait till my duedate which is on (oct 2nd).my mom wants me to wait till the due date.but i am confused.
does anybody gone through this process or atleast heard of this.
pls do write ur suggestions about inducing the labour pains.
thank u.

HI
I have heard that first time moms often have false labor and its natural to visit the hospital more than once.I also had false labor once but didn't go to the hospital but was almost about to go when the contractions stopped.
My doctor said its our body's way to prepare for childbirth.
So best is to be patient and wait.Unless absoultely urgent its not recommended to induce. This is a natural process so let it happen on its own and it will.
And besides ur due date is also not over. And even if its over there is still 2 weeks time after due date.
So wait patiently as even I feel sometimes I would like to be induced . But wait for the natural process. It is the safest and best for both u and the baby.
Good luck

Hi j'shri
Can understand ur anxiety i still have a month to go but already getting impatient. In a way good , ur baby will be getting healthier if full term.
U can try moving around, walking..say movements help labour process.
Squatting exercises, kegel also help.
i have read other forums of babycenter etc to induce labour naturally...but not sure how successful they are/harmful..most americans say spicy food induces it..then indians shouldn't have much trouble should we? make love?? i wonder how they do it at this stage...:)
I would say walk..keep body active will help.
Agree with what manvi says..be patient. for all u know everything can change in a day like it did for sumana. my friend was fine one day and in 10 mins was in labour ..so it may just end up too fast later. be positive..i am sure baby will let u know when he/she is ready and so will ur doc. know whats best.
All the best. Take care
Radhika

Hi Jsri,

Heard in the lamage classes that induced contractions are more painful than natural ones. Also heard that gap between contractions will be very less.

Didnot mean to scare you or disappoint you. Just want to share the information I know so that you can make a proper decision.

Also as you are not past due date, you still have time to get natural pains. Your mom can take care of you if she is here at that period. So, think in all ways, discuss with your hubby to make final call.

Good luck,
Anu.

Hey this means you r in your 39th week right. So your baby has fully developed&based on your last scan you will have a better idea of the baby's health[wt,lenth etc],if all is fine you can consider getting induced.
If you have mom close by&you all r prepared,no harm.
But one thing is just think you have no health problem as such until now in the sense there is no reason why u will not develop regular labour pains when the time arrives,so if u can be a little patient the little pumkin will be out soon on its own.
Induction is either by using a pitocin drip to induce contractions or artificially rupturing your membranes.
It is really done regularly for most moms who go past due date with no pains,so it is normal¬hing scary.
If baby is all grown&healthy, decide with your hubby&make the decision.Gluck I'll pray for you!!
