Name: Jayu

Hi Archie,
Jayu here..It's my first delivery.I had an appointment to doctor today. My previous scan report says- MY EDD is 25 Dec (my last date of m.cy. is 25th March with normal periods everymonth)and I will be completing my 37th wk tomorrow ie. 9th Dec.So My dr said-she can wait till Jan 2nd+ 3days i.e till Jan 5. But after checking me she said,\";My baby's head is not turned down \"; :( . She said she will do scanning after a wk, i.e on 15 the Dec - and then decide whether to do c-section-on 18th Dec!! if head doesn't turn down-) otherwise wait for normal delivery. But she also mentioned- It may not turn after 37 wk!! Archie- R there any chances to turn baby's head down at this stage -(my 37-wk almost over)...Pls do let me know urgently about your opinion.
Rgds
Jayu

Hi jayu
dnt worry trust in god.
its better to be pre planned fr any kind of labour than take a last minute decision as that is very traumatic mentally and physically too tiring.
It hardly matters whether its vaginal or csection.as long as the baby and u re fine and healthy.
Ive one vaginal with a post traumatic experience and one with last minute ceasarean that till last minute i ve tried for vaginal.
so if it has to be ceasarean and u kn it dnt worry jst go ahead and ve apeaceful delivery and enjoy the experience.
As with both my experiences i am sme what scared not knowing what to expect.
I am due on 1st of jan.
lots of luv. tke cre

Jayu,
as much it may sound scary you should try and get your mind set prepared for C-section.
I would not estimate gestation on LMP but trust more on ultrasound. If by ultrasound your edd calculates 37 weeks then there is very little chance for baby to turn head down.

However I want to remind you that if the breech is frank type of breech you should not wait to deliver by C-section.

Yes your Dr. may want to try to turn head down by hands while monitored under scan.

I would say if required go ahead with C-section, what matters is a healthy baby and your safety.

Archie

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
