I think next in line is Disha....all the best for your operation...
And Nick I think even u should get ready for ur delivery too..
I didnt even know I would go into labour this soon...I was feeling alright till I went for my Doc appt on Tuesday.She told me I was 2 cm dilated and I could go into labour anytime.But I still didnt beleive her.I was having a little bit pain since she had done a pelvic exam but other than that I was ok.But the same evening from 8 p.m I started getting irregular contractions.But even then I thought I still had time.I couldnt sleep since the contractions were getting painful and it was still 7-8 mins apart.Then at 1.00 a.m we called my doc and she asked me see for another 1/2 hr and then go to the hospital.
We reached the hospital by 3.00 a.m and by 7.00a.m I was 10 cm dilated and by 8.10a.m my baby was born.Like Bargavi said the pushing part is just like pushing stools, that is where your whole energy has to be used.And the main part, I know all you girls have attended lamaze classes and I am sure they taught u the controlled breathing.Please do use that breathing when in contractions and have your husband do the counting and coaching.It helped me a lot.
Pretty soon all of you would have your little bundle of joy in your hands.All the best for your deliveries and hoping to read all your stories soon.Do post your baby's pics in yahoo briefcase.

Welcome back..

Hi sumana.
Congratulations..Glad to hear from u and happy to hear delivery was smooth. Hope u r recovering as fast too. Thanks for all the tips, waiting eagerly for ur baby's photographs. Ur experience does make us prepare ahead too, i was hoping i will know 1 week in adv if i am due soon with back pain and irregular contractions, u just took a day..guess i will be mentally more prepared to go into labour anytime next month.
Hope u have a great life ahead with ur son. Do keep in touch and keep giving tips of caring for a baby..too.

Hi ,

Radhika, nice to hear that ur MIL finally got her visa....Now u can finally relax and take it easy.We really need lots of help after we deliver a baby, so u can be rest assured of that.

Anu, I had previously planned not to take the epidural injection.But is so happened that my nurses thinking that i was dilating 1 cm every hr didnt check me before i took the epidural.It seems i was already fully dilated my then.So i am really feeling bad about that.But otherwise the controlled breathing technique was the one which saw me through the major part.

Nick, even i was pretty sure that i would have my baby by sept 26th, but i ended up having my baby 10 days in advance.

Manvi, yes i did have an episiotomy.And no i didnt have any symptoms of labour before that.

Thanks for sharing the delivery experience.Ur labor was quick so thats nice.Yes I have packed my hospital bag so am prepared though I feel its not going to be before Oct 5th.
Anyway do post pictures of ur little one and take care and enjoy new motherhood.

Hi Sumana,

Nice to hear from you. How are you doing ? Hope everything is fine with you and the baby. You know, u are very lucky. Because in 4 hrs you were fully dilated and also the baby was delivered in one hour pushing. Seems like you did a very good job. I am so happy for you that you had a simple delivery. It is a BOON.

I really felt so nice to go through your labour experience. Thanks for posting it so soon. Did you take epidural ? Just want to know if it is possible to manage with out that. Also do let us know more details of Kaustubh, like weight & height.
