my elder son is 7 yrs old studying in 2nd. He is a very restless character just want to play watch cartoons enjoy eat etc. But he can' t concentrate on any thing. He watches tv lying down in front of tv or stand just in front of tv. He doesn' t like studies.

Even my younger one 3-1/2 is just like him. He' s in Jr.K.G. But he is never in front of tv. He loves to be around me whenever i' m at home or my maid. but he' s very very active.

Can anybody help to make my elder one (especially) to be little cool?

Be cool and don’t worry about your elder kid. Make sure that you don’t compare him with his younger one at any time. Give him some activities so that he can be engaged all the time which slowly improves him to be active in his all other works.

Agree with Rishab and Kim. Try involving your child in other activities. Also, your elder son would require a lot of attention from you and sometimes even though it may be frustrating, do try to keep up and engage your boys in some activity together. Good Luck!

Dear parent,
Lyl genesis is a preschool, daycare & activity center, whr I am working. So in a way I am always in touch with kids .As your kid is very active why not indulge in some interesting activities like story telling, drawing, dance and creative arts.

my son is 7 years old ... i had the same concerns like you. i took him to a phyca..... i asked him treat my child as a case study and tell me if he is a hyper active child,. he studied him in an hour and with my inputs he has told me he is a hyperactive child. so he has adviced me to start a medication.
basically he has asked me to watch his behaviour. you have to put on the shoes of an outsider and watch his behaviour. if he sits quitely for few minutes then let it go off your mind else please consult a doc. this is a small disorder in their brains. but you could notice such kids are sooo good at studies and very senseable kids..

Hi mrnaidu,
As you have mentioned ,a restless kid like your elder son needs more attention. If he is playing, its fine but if he is watching the tv not concentrating on studies then its time you take some neccesary action.Just cut down his tv watching hours to a maximum.' Coz its proven that watching too much tv affects concentration. Instead, see if he has got other areas of interest such as music, panting, arts or so and join him for evening classes. You will surely see him sit at a place and engage himself in some interesting stuff and without complaining.

thanks priya. My elder son is very much interested in drawing so I did enroll him in drawing classes, but he says ´ my drawing is very nice, so why i have to go to drawing class´ . And since I´ m working & reach home only by 7-7.30, its not possible for me to take him myself. But I do keep him saying that ur drawing will improve much more.
