Due Date Club July 2008:12th week scan!

Yes, it was quite an experience... my baby was bouncing up and down, and was mvoing one of its arms up and down once in a while... then when we wanted to watch more, it simply went silent... the doc asked me to cough to see if he/she moves... it was good fun...
That apart, the scan was to check the NT, which was in the normal range for me... so looks like my doc (i have to see her in the next few days) will not ask me to do any further tests for this... anyone in this group doing the Triple marker test? if yes, what was your NT measurement?
I am also doing a blood test tom to check for hemglbn, hepetatis, HIV etc etc...

somehow I feels more reassured after this scan, like this whole pregnancy thing is more real, and is actually hapenning :)

Congrats and I bet you it feels so relaxed after watching the baby move and jump all over. Ya, I know when we move our bellys or laugh and cough the baby gets into a jerky movements all the more. In my case too the baby was jumping the moment I giggled and laughed. And when I went silent it became calm too. Its such a fun to watch.

I' m glad we all are one after the other going in for the 12th week scan and sharing our experiences on this board. It really helps and is reassuring
that we are all in the same boat.

Take care.

hey lalitha

congrats! :) i' m sure you' re all relieved and relaxed now..

like i said, i did my scan last wk and everything looked fine except for my low lying placenta.. i hope it will move up in the next few wks.. unfortunately, i have had to deal with a family wedding so i have been a bit busy since i am the 1st daughter-in-law of the house.. but everyone is making sure i don' t overdo it.. i make sure that i alternate between sitting and standing and don' t exert myself.. but i had to wear a heavy outfit today.. will that have any impact on the low lying placenta? i had asked my doc last week if i could participate actively in the ceremonies and she said it was fine as long as i didn' t bend and lift heavy things, which i am not doing.. i know this is a weird question but what about wearing a heavy lehenga choli? is that bad?

Hi Riya

I wish I knew the answer. I think a heavy ghaghra choli should not make a difference, but if u r thinking about this while wearing it and probably not enjoying yourself completely, then it is probably not worth it.... :)
i think u shd not worry too much about it whether u wear it ornot, and just enjoy yourself.
