my daughter is suffring from rashes all over her body. dr saying that its atopic dermatitis ,a kind of eczema.I used 1 hydrocortison ,it helped but its coming back.I am so depreesed and feeling helpless.baby seems comfortable but i am so stressed that i can not do anything ,am really worried about her .i dont know how long i could use hydrocortison because there is some side efffect of it.does any one face such kind of problem or knows any cure.reply soon

, msk replied. hows ur daugther doing?maybe FDA stopped Elidel i dont know that.s, according to ur ped. advice ur baby is too small to do allergy testing.vr living at iselin.mykid dermatologist is Dr.Peterlee at bridgepointe,Metuchen.v went to India at summertime.All the Best! msk replied. we did RAST and started using steroid for my baby when she crossed 1yr ,not less than 1 yr. i dont know whether they do less than 1yr old.i used Eldiel eczema cream that ped prescribed for my kid less than 1yr.i dont know about homeopathy. we didnt try for our kid.i went India last yr.within 1 week after our landing we dramatically seen imporovement on my kid skin aturally.noitching,scratching nothing at India bcos of weather.My ped. asked me not to give cow milk till she crosses 5yr or 6yrs old. so till my kid was not at cow milk ,wheat,egg,soy. i didnt even try so far.during summer dont use diaper at home.just leave herwearing cotton clothes so that u can observe whether she stops itching,getting rashes on her bumps and genital spot.i did that when my kid was infant. i didnt take any precautions when i take my kid outside.i gave her similac Alimentum,Enfamil Nutramigen during her infant stage according to my ped. advice.i' m sure that my ped didnt do any test less than 1yr.just moisturing cream,Eldel cream that it. but when my kid crossed 1 yr they started using mild steroid,benandryl,zyrtec at bedtime.dont give ur baby besanpowder bath.u can consult your ped.about skin care. where are you living at NJ?whos ur dermatologist & Allergist? take her of ur baby.Any' ve consult new dermat& Allergist with your Pediatrician. msk replied. hi,this is common prob at US. bcos of dry weather,carpet,foods etc.kids getting eczema. did u do RAST test for ur kid. if ur kid is allergic to certain food u can avoid that.Better u can consult ur ped & allergist.ur kid' ll outgrows from this eczema once sheturns 3 or 4yrs old.butu' ve to keep onapplyhercleanser,moist.cream,steroid cream for rashes.for her skin care u must consult her to dermatologist so that u can get good creams,oil,steroid that her body suits.but u must confirm that she' s not ' ving food allergies so that u must consult allergist. dont use the creams that available at the over-the -counter .bcos cetaphil,aquaphor, etc.. r there but u dont know which cream ur baby' s skin suits. better consult dermatologist. surely u' ll get one soln. my kid suffering from same eczema from 3months old but now she' s 5 yrs old keep on outgrowing from eczema. v did RAST test shows she' s ' ving rashes bcos of certain food.so once v known v totally stopped her feeding those food till now, so her skin is really good. u can notice that ur baby itching mostly at night.so that ur allergist can prescribe zyrtec at bedtime for stopping her itching & sleep. my kid is at zyrtec for the past 5yrs. no harmful. if winter comes shes again getting very dry skin.v' ve to keep on moisturising 4 or 5 times a day is the only way for AD. dont consider eczema is a wild, take it easy and maintain ur baby skin according to dr' s advice & allergist advice. surely she' ll outgrows once she grown big. i know how painful for parents i too faced the same thing. butnow only 50% peaceful mind i' m getting. once v did RAST she was at hypoallergenic milk only, so many situations v' ve faced with my kid.but now only shes doing ok not excellent too.dont live at carpeted house.hardwood floor is better than carpet. no dustmites,v' ve to avoid indoor allergens like no pet dander,keep on washing her bedsheets,pillowcovers with mild detergent like Dreft. use cotton clothes for ur kid. during winter wear first coating must be cotton above that u can put woolen clothes. u must think all aspects that ur kids skin must not be irritated. u must use humidifier,maintain room temparature.keep home very neat. As a mom v must be very patience and do things for such a kids. v also live at NJ only.since i too face the same prob i gave few tips but u must consult ur pediatrician about good allergist,dermatalogist. ur pediatircian will guide you on the good way.my kid was at Enfamil Nutramigen,similac Alimentum then Neocate milk for the past 5yrs.if ur breastfeeding u must consult your pediatrician. My son who is 2 yrs old now also suffers from eczema.It' s nthg you can do except keeping your daughter' s body moisturising,not letting it dry.Don' t use soaps,use cetaphil cleanser while bathing her.Avoid food which makes rashes worse like eggs,bread,etc.Apply moisturizer 3-4 times a day and before going to bed.Don' t worry,maybe the rashes will go away as she grows up.Don' t stop using cleanser and moisturizer/lotion.And don' t allow her to scratch the area,this will make it more worse.
