hi to all of u .today was my check-up and according to the doc it is my 36th week and baby is engaged now or on the procedure of engaging and doc gave me the next appn of after 10 days that means 6th dec ,my e.d.d. is 16th dec.my doc was saying that after she would decide to induce labour or c-section. she is just waiting4 my 38thweek .she will not wait 4 my full term just b coz of my g.d. prob.is it ok in 38th week delivery?i m just afarid of c-section.my b.p. and sugar is undercontol .what should i do?should i belive on my doc or should i change my doc?tell me pls. dont worry at all, my case is very similar to urs. My edd was 16th dec and i also have GD. My doc is going to induce labour in the 38th week. In cases of GD they usually go for inducing labour. Babies are generally bigger in this case so they dont want to take a chance. Even my BP and sugar is in control. He has assured me that he will wait for 18-24 hours after induction and give ma a fair chance of normal delivery. Have faith in your doc and try and read up on the procedure of labour induction. That will prepare you. Its not bad at all. Only if there is a complication at end stage they will do a c section.

Chinky, it is very safe to deliver anytime after 37th week and common for babies of GD moms to be delivered in 38th week..esp if they are too big. but..how big a baby can u dleiver is hard to tell even by the doc...some docs play it safe by recommending C section...at this point, relax and trust ur doc...u wnat a healthy baby..and hey don't be scared of Csection...i have had one...the recovery is not that bad.

Trust your docter and she will do what is best for you. Speak to her and uncderstand why she is not waiting for you to complete full term, what are the risks etc etc and then you may feel convinced.
