Hi Girls,

It is okay to eat the fish like salmon which is found in sea i.e wild alaskan salmon. Avoid fish in fresh water or from the rivers as they contain the high mercury level.

I am 24 weeks pregnant, and since the first month my doctor told me not to eat Fish. Any seafood carries high amounts of mercury. So I recommend that you should stay away from it. My doctor said it is ok to eat it like once a month, but it's better not to eat it at all.

preferable to reduce seafood during pregnancy and breastfeeding to minimise mercury exposure to child.
Mercury can cause autism and other problems in children

diet during pregnancy
Maintaining a healthy diet during pregnancy is very important.

During this time, your body needs additional nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

In fact, you may need 350–500 extra calories each day during the second and third trimesters.

A diet lacking in key nutrients may negatively affect the baby’s development.
