Hello,

I am planning to visit Chennai from January to April 2007. I would like to know if there is a preschool/montessori/after-school which accepts children for a 3 month period instead of a full academic year. My son currently goes to a preschool in the US and he will turn 4 in January. I will be located in the Abhiramapuram area. So any school in and around that area will be most convenient. If anybody can provide some info about the types of schools, programs and rates I will be very grateful.

I am Ashok and been in US for 5 years now. I am returning to India in Jan 2008 and was searching the internet for any information regarding schooling for my daughter. She is in 1st grade now.

I saw your message about Sprout Montessori. May be i am looking in the wrong places but i cant seem to find the website for the school at all. I got their phone number but not the website. I am looking for more information about the school. Could you help me out in any way with my search for a school?

Hi Teja..

Yes, most preschools in chennai take in children in Jan for the last term.There are plenty of good options around Alwarpet and Abhiramapuram...you could also try out Bambino Nursery and primary school near the Alwarpet bridge...it's a good school for children coming from abroad.

I had completely ruled out Bambino since I didn't think they would admit a child at the very end. Thank you, I will look into it. Do you by any chance know about " Sprouts Montessori" . From the internet it looked like they might also do term-based admission.
