hi, my daughter is going to be 3 yr old next mth and the problem is that she uses her own language to express her self... for every routine things like eating food, wanting to watch tv, calling us etc... she talk normally in hindi/english language... but otherwise she uses her own set of words to carry on conversation with us or any one...we feel helpless as we don't understand what she is telling us... which in turn frustrates her also.
we moved to US (NJ) a yr ago from Delhi. my daughter was 20 mths old at that time... earlier we thought that she is making up her own vocabulary because of the language and socialogical change in her enviornment but in Delhi also she used to speak in her own language to express her self but there she was picking up and learning words in hindi language very quickly. Now her peadiatrician asked us to get her Nurological evaluation.
she is a perfectly normal kid and meets all the developmental milestones for her age. From last 1 mth she started going to her preschool and according to her teacher she is a active child and participate enthusiastically in every class activity and mix with her peers. she pronounce every word and sentences clearly when asked her to say.
we comunicate with her alot and i a stay at home mom spend my whole day with her.. the only problem is that although she talks properly to us abt what she wants, she uses her own language to express her self and carry on conversation.
If any one faced the same problem with their kids and knows the solution for it then pls suggest us what should we do to build her vocabulary and encourage her to communicate in a proper language with others.
looking forward for ur replies and suggestions

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
