Can U Please tell me which Yahoo group helps to get first hand info

My Son Is 2 1/2 yr old...
he started saying only 2-3 word like app ...
I am staying in US so he is evaluated Under Birth to Three prgm...
But he is getting behavoiur therapy rather a Speech Thrapy......

1)Actually I am unable to keep him in touch in other children of his age...
that might helped him...
Yes he needs social activity...some group..kind..

2)He does not listen to what we r saying...respond to only music or poems..

3)Yes I agree that Boys have more speech related prob...

4)except communication...his other activity are good........
But communication also imp....
As we can't understand what he needs......

I was bit unhappy by their behavour therapy treatment.........
so I am trying to get Speech therapy.......

Here in US for every appmt there is waiting time of min 1 month...
So yet to go ....
As my son is getting behaviour therapy from Birth to three treatment ..and Speech therapy from different source..our insurance plan may not cover this speech therapy....
I want to know that whether u r getting behavour therapy from Birth to three or Any other practioner ...
We can also chat on this indiaparnting, here there is chatting facility also . So we can decide date & time ..and then we can share our yahoo or other ID..so we can remain in touch....

do not worry about the speech. I feel he is perfectly doing fine. I have a son who is 4 1/2 years old and I went thru' the similar situation when he was 2 1/2 years old. My son used to clap hands when he hears his fav song and then do all actions for \" wheels on the bus\" ... still did not talk. Then I put him in a school around 2 1/2 years where he picked up small words like go, no, mom etc. Around 3 years he started talking in sentences. Now we cannot stop him from talking. Iam sure parents who have boys suffer from speech probs rather than parents who have girls. so concentrate on engaging him in social activities and beleive me he is going to be wonderful boy!!

1)yes My Son listens fav songs,watches fav TV shows ..but anything goes wrong he do not cooperate and starts shouting or crying..
2)BY now u might hav got idea of behaviour therapy..

supriyasanoj replied. hey Ashwini...iam staying in Michigan.my son is 2 1/2 years.we sent him to day care when he was 2 were he learnt only few words.so with our pediatrition suggestion we took him for a speech evaluation.then they recommended for behaviour therapy.
they told me that he just dont have any problem,he is stubborn and does not concentrate in a single thing for a long time.for eg kids like to play with some toys or bulding bloks for at least 15 mins.but he diverts his concentration every 2 or 3 minutes.so they told that might be the problem so they suggested behaviour therapy to make him focussed.
if your son can follow simple commands and makes lots of sounds and listens to his favorite song or music and if he can blow whistle.then dont worry about him.may be there is isuues like this in your family as mine do.kids speaking late.
