Yesterday i had me first NST. Im in the 36th week right now. The NST was normal, heartbeat is good and baby fetal movement is also very good. My EDD was around 12th/14th Dec. But my gynac said he would induce labour in 38th week because my baby weight is on higher side. It is a normal practice they follow for if you have GD. Baby is already 7 pounds and will add more in the coming 10-15 days. I have put on total 10 kgs.

My sugar readings r in control. Though ive been having a controlled diet and exercising everyday, my weight is gng on adding up. It doesnt show much on me, but the baby is big! So i feel im leaving everyhting to the doc and will let him decide whatever is best for my baby. Mostly he will induce me between 28th nov and 3rd dec.

Archie, when they induce labour what are the chances of having normal / c-section delivery? The babys head is not yet engaged. But it is head down in vertex.

Any other suggestions / feedback ?

DO reply. 10 more days to go!! I have my next apptment and NST on 24th.

I think inducing or operatin in 38th week for GD itself is a common practice in India..my mom also spoke to a doc about my case and the doc said the same thing.
Out here, my doc encouraged me to wait until the due date to schedule a C section. My baby's weight is a little less than urs too..but she said it may increase to 8lbs but that I should still try for normal.
Induction and Csection have no correlation..if baby is too big , she probably won't even descend into teh pelvis.(my doc's view)..what r the measurements like...like head circumference and abdominal circumference..and their ratio..that gives an idea of how broad teh shoulders are as that is a major concern for us GD moms.
