Hi guys,

Am glad to join this forum. I am 13 weeks preg with a due date of 9/11 !

I am concerned abou the color of my urine recently and wanted to check if anyone encountered the same. I could not tolerate my doctor prescribed prenatal vits, so they switched me to Childrens chewables - 2 a day. However from the time i started taking multivits (either of them) i noticed that my urine turned bright yellow. The doc says it could be due to excess B6 that my bosy is eliminating....but i still don' t feel assured :(. I' m worried i might be on an overdose and that there might be future complications. Anyone with a similar story? ....

i agree completely with ira. discoloration of urine esp in the morning (if u take vits at nighttime) is common. and there is no need to worry abt overdose. like ira said, ur body will take in as much as it needs and discard the rest.

Yeah!! Ira is right... the color of ur urine is due to B-complex.. I too taking these tabs and my urine is also bright yellow in color sometimes.

dont worry.. be happy...

don' t worry.. it is a property of b Complex... your urine comes our bright yellow... i' ve taken these supplements before too.. and it happens everytime.

and i don' t think you can have overdose of vitamin B6 if your body is eliminating the extra dose thru urine...
there are some vitamins and supplements which if you eat in excess the body just absorbs as much as it needs and rxcretes the rest... folic acid is also one of those.

and believe me... my mom is a gynac.. and i have grown up among supplements :-).
and enjoy.....
rest assured.. you will never have a complication due to a deficiency of some vitamin or mineral... that can cause severe birth defects.
