Hope everyone is doing great...
I want to list down what all medicines (vitamins, folic acid, omega 3 fatty acids etc) everyone is taking...
My doctor did not give me any prenatals..so I just want to know about others..

Initially my doctor did not give me any medicines..when I requested her..she gave me just Folic acid tablets.

Apart from folic acid, I am not taking anything..

It will be great if everybody lists down what they are taking

prenatal vits

i am taking Duet DHA Stuartnatal vitamins which my doctor has prescribed. earlier in ttc process, i was taking some over the couner prenatals..but then my doc prescribed me this (while i was still ttc).
ramya-maybe your doc will prescribe some prenatals later, like in 2nd trimester. folic acid is needed at this stage, so she might have just gone with it now. but you can keep asking her.

list of medicines

Hi..
I am in my 15th week and I am having folic acid 5mg and vitamin capsules each a day.
As I am already entered in my second trimester, Doctor is going to add some calcium and iron tablets from next week, but I dont know whether i have to stop the folic acid and vit. then or not...

But my cousion sister who is also pregnent and in her 7th week is having 2 tabs of folic acid (5mg)in a day only. So I am confused...

i do not know what everyone' s taking,
i am taking prenatals.. so i' ll just list down the composition of my prenatals..
i don' t really know the meaning of everyone of them...

vitamin A (1.08mg) 3600UI
vitamin B1 1.6 mg
vitamin B2 1.8 mg
vitamin B6 2.6 mg
vitamin B12 4.0 ug (micrograms)
Vitamin C 100 mg
vitamin D(12.5 ug) 500 UI
Vitamin E 15 mg
Biotin (Vitamin H) 0.2 mg
Acid folic 800 ug (micrograms)
nicotanamid 19 mg
acid pantothenic 10 mg

7 Minerals and metals
Calcium 125 mg
magnesium 100 mg
phosphorus 125 mg
copper 1 mg
iron 60 mg
manganum 1 mg
zinc 7.5 mg

i know that the folic acid in this is 800 micrograms.. whereas the folic acid tabs in india which the doctors prescribe are 5 milligrams..
my mom was initially worried about that.. so i ate the indian one for a few months.. but then i have read that the recommended daily allowance for pregnant women of folic acid is from 800 micrograms to 1 milli gram.
but don' t worry.. you cannot overdose on folic acid because your body just excretes the extra folic acid..
i do still take the indian version twice a week to keep my mom happy :-)

brand?

I am sorry parvathi, no one´ s answered.. i would have.. but i wat only prenatals... that too what i have is a swiss brand. it´ s called elevit. i don´ t know if it´ s available everywhere by the same name because here in switzerland most names are in french.
maybe you can ask you doctor for it.
