Nurseries and Schools:is it normal to be adamant ?

Hi all:

My kid is 2.5 and going to montessori. He is a wonderful child. For past 1-2 weeks, he is too(I MEAN IT) ADAMANT. For anything and everything, he starts crying. His eating has gone down a lot. (He is already an underweight child).

Is it just part of terrible two or should I be concerned about his behaviour ?. I don't know from where he learnt to be so adamant ;-(

A parent must lots and lots of conversation with a child. Infact they should be treated as any other adult.(I mn no force attitude). Possibly this is the time when his personality is getting built.

For eg : If food has to be served. initially we must ask him if he wishes to have ie: chapathi and daal. If he refuses, for 10 mins we must leave him and there are possibility he might come back and ask for it and then it would easy to give him. If he does not then also the possibilities are that he is not hungry or maybe he wants to have something else.

A child can be engaged on conversations by telling stories, or reallife time incidents, how to make chapatis, daal etc.

We have a kid of the same age. He is also little adamant.
What you can do is, try to divert the attention of the kid for which he is crying. Dont worry much abt the 'adamant' issue. I dont think there is any room to worry. It will change in due course of time. May be he would got this nature by seeing other pupils in his montesorri.
