Hello,

I have son who shall be turning 3 in Jan, 07. Apart from Tamil (mother tongue) he does not know any language. in a group when he goes where his friends or other pepole talk in a common language which is English, he slowly walks away from the group as he does not know to communicate with them.

Could anyone help me teach englisjh to him in an easy way.

The answer to your question is with urself only. Just answer how you taught him Tamil?? I gues you never taught him tamil. YOu and your family members spoke with him and among urself in tamil. So he learnt it on its own. You start speaking with him in English and among urself, he will learn english on its own. I feel that kids have enormous engery and vocalbulary and they are dynamic. What ever you will teach him, he will learn. The kid gains and learns atlost till the age of 6 yrs which remains with him full life. So its necessary to teach him healthy habbits and good manners etc at an early stage. All the best to u.

Hi Srinithi,
I have two small kids one 5 years and one 4 years . We are using an excellent programme for them to teach them good and proper english.
It is a multimedia product which you can start with any child who has completed 2 years. as your child is 3 he is right age for the product.
If you want to know more call me at 9880665749.
Hope this will help you ,
Seena

hai!!
Paste attractive posters filled with vegetable names, fruits, vehicles etc..teach him one word a day.teach means u dont have to make him sit and teach just show a book and ask him what it is.first he wont answer.but when u do thid regularly he will eventually start responding.
u have to spend more timewith him.just use some words which he can understand when u talk to him..slowly he will pick up the pace.
take him to library and show him more picture books.he will slowly get interested in wot he is doing.but plzz never ever force him to answer or read..go slow and steady he will amuse u one day.
give it a try..
regards
tm!!

I now have started conversing with him in english and the result is that he understands but replies back in tamil. So to some extent there is some improvement.

Whenever I take him out I keep pointing to the activities happening like this is a tree, a man is driving car on the road etc. maybe it will take a month for him to converse small words or sentences.

anyway thanks a lot for the great advices to tm, seena and karuna
