I reached Mumbai on 1st November, and had my first appointment with my Mumbai Gynaec yesterday.
The doctor went thru my history and later did a physical and internal examination.
He told me that the baby is small. And that my cervix is slightly open at the mouth.
I am 32w6d. The doctors in Bangalore had also told me that my fundal height was small at 29w, but a scan on the same day revealed everything was fine.
Now I am not sure the growth is still small. The doctor obviously told me not to worry, but I am just very concerned. I have a scan on the 18th.

Now what does small babies mean ? Why is my baby small ? I am having a good diet and now I am on complete rest.

Also is the cervix open at mouth of any concern ?
In case of Labor, the cervix typically opens from the top. Please correct me.

Please help me Archie. I am really concerned. I have to wait for 10 more days for my scan appnt.

Otherwise I can feel my baby movements all the time and the Doc said it is in the Head down position.

Rajji Sonu replied. Small baby doesn't mean a weak baby. My friend delivered a baby girl and she was so ting but in less than 4-6 months the baby matched the weight of the other babies who were normal or heavy at birth. archie replied. without ultrasound fetal weight can not be taken seriously, if the estimate by your new gynec was made with fundal height then it may be incorrect. Do not loose hope.

small baby may mean a low weight birth. Therefore including dry fruits and some fats in diet is must, baby will add layers of fat beneath the skin and likely to gain weight.

cervix opens from the mouth only. It may not be a concern but good to stick to bed rest until you completed 36 weeks. Also if the cervix is opened more before next appointment get a surfactant injections so that babys lung are matured and won't be harm if that has to be delivered ahead of time.
