Hi All
Anupama was lucky for her for her first delivery. 1/2 an hr sounds really miracle !
I am due on Sept 16th but probabily according to doctor I might deliver before that. I am also getting tensed for the delivery and labor. I will not be having my mom or anyone elder with me at the time of delivery. Only my DH.
I am always thinking of baby and then trying to forget about the pain..
I read lot of bitrh stories at ChildbirthDOTorg. It makes me more scared!!
Anupama, did u deliver after the due date or before??
LEt us know more about ur first delivery.
Take care girls

Dearest Priya,

Hi! It is really tough luck that your mom wont be there with you during the delivery.
All you need for the delivery actually is faith in God. Just keep on praying and doing what the doctor tells you to do. ( sometimes you feel like screaming at the doc because he asks you not to push when you have the very intense feeling to push) but have patience and it will definitely be rewarded.
Are you applying some cream or oil to your nipples now? At least try to apply it at night, so that your nipples dont become sore when you start breast feeding. It is a very common complaint.
Keep all your and baby's clothes into your bag which you will be taking to the hospital at least 20 days before the due date. If you are early, then you wont be able to do so and your poor hubby will have to do the running around.
Keep as many diapers/and/or cloth nappies as possible, ready because in the initial month or so, they will be soiled every 5 - 10 minutes. Keep at least 5-6 packs of sanitary pads handy, because the bleeding will be very heavy in the initial days.
Be cool and even if the baby cries a lot, you dont cry ( I used to do that initially, because I didnt know why the baby was crying!). Keep a cool head and check whether it is hungry, wet, cold or hot. Then by touching the tummy, ear and other parts of the body, see if there is any pain. Then call your doc for any medication etc.
Here, in India, with mothers and mom-in-laws nearby, home made remedies are plenty which are actually very helpful in an emergency. Keep "HING" ready all the times. If you feel baby's stomach is aching , then put a little hing in warm water and apply it around the navel of the baby. Hopefully it will quieten down.
There are a lot of other home made remedies. If you can give me your e-mail i.d., I could mail some to you.
All the best to you. Dont worry, be happy.

Dear Priya,

Hi! Yeah, it really was good that my labour lasted for 1/2 an hour, but the umbilical cord was twice around my son's neck, hence I had to be induced.
It is only God's grace that I had a normal delivery. If it was delayed even a little bit, then the head would have been pulled back into the womb and then it would have been a c-section.
My doc too was very relived and happy that it was normal.
I was 15 days earlier than my due date then. Hence I am very scared this time, because I am not used to a long labour and dont know what exactly to expect. Hope God is good to me this time too.
I am taking homeopathic medicines, which will help me have a relatively easy delivery. If there is a pharmacy near you, why dont you consult that doc. for more details?
Nothing else. My d-date is 15th Sept. So maybe both of us will deliver around the same time.
bye. Take care.

Dear Namrata,

Hi! Just read your message. Do not get scared
about the D-day. I am in Mumbai. This is my 2nd time.
My 1st delivery, my labour lasted for (you wont believe it-)
1/2 an hour though I had to be induced because of foetal distress.
But, dont worry. Your body is so well equipped for labour that
afterwards it will seem like a dream to you.
Dont spoil these last months thinking about the D-day.
Leave it to God and your body.
Enjoy your last few days of pregnancy and rest as much as possible.
You probably wont be able to rest in the first few months after delivery !
bye.

Hi Anupama,
I saw your message on the site after so many days. How are u doing there?

The bad news for me is my mom did not get the visa to come here to help me for the delivery. Now I am trying to prepare myself. You already have one experience. Can you please let me know what all I will need to prepare?

Take care
Priya

Stem cell banking on with life cell
yes Life cell is the best, when ourbabygirl was due in Feb 2011 we shortlisted Lifecell after meeting Cyrobanks, Relicord, Babycord etc. Cyrobanks are thugs they promise you the moon and also there is no indian hand in this company so we can' t rely on them at all. Relicord is good but the offers have so much marketing gimmicks. Other players lacks either the technical inf... - CK [View Message]

Good Gynae in Dwarka
Hi

I am new to dwarka and want to know if there is any good doctor having her clinic here (I expect them to be visiting some good hospotal).

I know some good doctors in gurgaon like Dr Chetna Jain (Columbia Asia), Dr Manvita (Max).

but can anybody suggest someone in dwarka as gurgaon would be far for emergency situations.
