i have been married for 6 mths.it was love marriage after a long struggle.my problem sounds diff.i like living life in a good way new cloths,cosmetics n beautiful n organised.my parents family is financially sound n his also but they don't live in good way like good cloths or making house n kichten beautiful is not imp to them.they don't want to invest money on them.
after marriage we moved outside india n during 6 mths he didn't bought anything to me ,even for moisture i have push him, no parlour visits, no cloths.whereas at my home i use to buy new cloths everymth.i didn't say anything to him.
we visited india n i asked him for go for shopping as my parents gave us quite good money for shopping.after returning frm india he has started saying u have many cloths,say ur mom not to buy any cloths for u becoz i don't like wastage of money whether there or us.his mother also said once this thing to me.
my mom buys cloths n cosmetics to me n still he has problem with it.i feel suffocated. advisor replied. hey anju..u are lucky to have a hubby who doesn't believe in wasting anyone's money..even his parents and ur parents too.where as ladies have tough time..when there hubby tell them to borrow money from girls parents..
come on..cosmetics and parlour this is temporary..enjoy ur life with ur hubby and inlaws..good suggestion given by thinker here.how to use ur old saree for furnising ur house.That's the way..
would u believe when i was living with my parents i used to go to parlour twice a month..now it's 2 years since i have gone..and i still look beautifull.There are means to take care of ur health at home..enjoy it..

Please enjoy ur life. thinker replied. Is it really a matter of wasting money, ask yourself that. I do see your husbands point, it is good to invest and spending unwisely isn't good but this is whole different kettle of fish.

Clothing moisturizer and cosmetics are necessities when bought in reason. New clothes every month is just overkill so buying new ones at such a frequency is frivolous and wasteful. But clothing does need replacing every so often. You say they don't want the house to look nice as it involves spending money... What do you do with your old sarees? They can be turned into the most delightful soft furnishings, cut down and stitched into cushion covers, throws over the back of a sofa, bed spreads, swags over the windoes, table cloths... The list is endless.

To most men and many women visits to the parlour are also silly ways to spend your money but if it is important to you than try reaching a compromise with your hubby, say 4 or so visits a year. Your husband will understand you if you talk with him ,just as you'll understand his position if you listen. Understanding needs to come from BOTH and only then can compromise be reached
