Hi,
Iam in my 36th week starting and as per ultrasound result estimated fetal weight is 3014(+ or -)301 gms and the sonologist said that the baby is bigger than average.Does it mean that i need to go for C-Section only?Is there anything which i can do for normal delivery.Please suggest.

Dear New Mum,
No one can estimate on C-section or vaginal birth at this stage.
It's true that sometime babies beyong 9 pounds are difficult to deliver vaginally but knowing many skinny girls delivering over 10 pound babies vaginally I would leave this to last minute.
If your pelvis is smaller and you will know that while fully dilated and trying to push the baby, then most likely you will be taken in C-section category. In US some Drs. do not like to take chances and they will schedule for C-section ahead of time with large babies.

Your baby will be between 8-9 pounds at /completion of 37 weeks. If you choose you can go for induction in 38 weeks to enhance vaginal birth possibilities.

At this time nothing can be done than induction or leaving to last minute.
