Health Concerns:For Archie - update on rash
2004-08-24
Name: Mom to be

Dear Archie,
The doc's office called me yesterday and the nurse informed that my blood reports are normal. However, the doctor wanted to take a look at my rash. Earlier, it was the midwife who saw the rash and took blood sample. The rash in my stomach was the first to appear. It is slowly turning black now. The rash that appeared later in hands and breasts are reddish and itching a lot now. I apply yogurt and then take a cold shower. At night, I apply aveeno - otherwise the whole night I will have to sit and scratch. Aveeno does give a lot of relief.

This afternoon I met the doc. He confirmed with the blood reports that there is no problem with my liver. THe reports are normal. He saw the rashes and suspected that it must be some food allergy or something like that. If it is a pregnancy rash, he says, it would appear during the end of pregnancy late in third trimester. He asked me about the different kinds of vegetables (since i am a vegetarian) that I ate. I had taken bittergourd which is out of normal. We don't go that often to Indian stores to get indian veggies. He was saying that probably we may not find the cause at all. However, he asked me to take benadryl 25 tablet. If it doesn't work, he has given me a prescription for Zertek. He has asked me to update him on the changes.
I am really thankful to you, seeing your reply gives me a lot of relief.
Thanks once again.

PS: After seeing ur reply to my msgs, I reply to that reply. Would you see that or should I post a new msg for you? Thanx.

Dear Mom to be,
The best is to start a new thread.
In my case we suspected the rash was due to \";drumstick\";. But can not be sure, I ate the same later in third trimester and no problems at all. So we gave up on investigating as the episode was down and better we close file in such case.
