Due Date Club December 2005:What a Nightmare on Diwali

Name: Anamika

I went for my regular check to OB/GYN, every week they do a stress test(NSD) to make sure baby's heartbeat and movements are ok. This time I couldn't feel baby's movement at all so doctor advise me to go labor and delivery room at Fair Oaks hospital. After getting there they put me on monitor...baby's heartbeat were perfectly fine but my contraction had started every 4 mintues...which I never felt. So they put me on Ivy and gave me 5 Asthma shots to reduce my contraction, doctor advice me for moderate bed rest...I can still go to work but avoid standing, walking for long hrs.

The reason for contraction my doctor and nurse gave me is Dehydration, eating less food and also due to urine infection... So girls make sure you all drink enough water & eat proper food. Sometime small things can make big issues in life.I just wanted to share my nightmare experience. Hope nobody has to go through this. ALL THE BEST GIRLS

I am so glad that everything is ok with you and baby, specially during this last month be more carefull and avoid going up and down...definately get help from somebody in the house or ask your husband. I just started my 34 week so far everything is been great till this thing happen to me this week. But I am more carefull in eating and drinking but the biggest issue is urine infection...

Hi Anamika,
try to relax and get plenty of rest as doc advised. The winter started and we won't feel thirsty right but you have to drink fluids as much as possible which helps in everything hydrating, reduces leg swelling what else in everything it seems. So try to drink and be calm and enjoy the pregnancy only few weeks remained to deliver.
Good Luck & take care

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
