Hi.

I would like to know what is the right age to start pre-school? My daughter is 2 and we happened to move to a place where there are not kids around for her to play with. Is it a good idea to start school so early?

I am a mother of a 21/2 yr old. My in-laws were staying with me, but they shifted when my son was 2. My son was constantly roaming around me and not allowing me to work at home. Also he had no fixed routine for sleep or food. There were kids in the neighbourhood, but when they used to play, he used to sleep. So he had no interaction with other kids. It was then that I thought of putting him in playschool, not with the motive of academics , but to have an interaction with other kids and set his daily routine. He was reluctant to part with me initially, but later he got accustomed. He enjoys school, and also learns new things there.His personality has also undergone change from being shy and introvert, now he is more forthcoming and mingling.

Yes, I think 2 years is quite an age to join playschool. The kids mix around well at this age, learn a lot of creative things, and their way of understanding things increases. When there are a lot of kids to play, they learn to share things.
