Hi every one

Hi!

I am a mother of 7 year old boy. I am a working woman. Sometimes I feel guilty that I am unable to give my child the time and presence due to my work for the whole day . My child loves me a lot and he misses me. Of late my son started of aggresive behaviour -hitting other children at school and the like. He cant be still at one place. I am getting complaints from all walks of life. I am totally depressed. He is a hyper active kid. with very little concentration level. We have tried some therapies to calm his hper activeness. But of little help. I request you all parents to suggest some remedy including some medicine to cure my only son' s aggresive ways.

A very worried mother

Hi
My son was also the same way & we used to get complaints from his teachers. We enrolled him to different classes like Kumon, Swimming & Karate he has changed a lot. Not sure if that was a passing phase or if enrolling him to these classes made him calm down.
I can underatnd how stressfull it is to get complaints from school.
So please try to enroll him to different classes & keep him busy

Hi Samera,
if this is a behaviour that is unlike him, then something must have changed. Is there a change in his envoirnment at school or home? it cld also be a behavioural change with age, as the children grow older they demand more attention. Either ways, spend more time with him, let him come out with what is troubling him, does he need more time and attention from you/ his father?
Try to make him realise that being difficult and hostile is not going to get him more attention, as sometimes kids try to attract attention this way...ignore him when he throws a tantrum and tell him that you are unable to understand what he wants unless he puts it across clearly and in a polite manner.

Also try to talk to his teachers to see if this change is due to any particular reason unknown to you.

And most important, keep your cool, it might just be a passing phase...channelise his excess energy productively into hobbies or activities that he enjoys, let him join music, dance, arkwork, even martial arts to drain out the excess enrgy and sooth him. Have you tried music as a therapy...do try it, u cld play some calming soft tunes even while he goes to sleep/gets up.

all the best!

hi smera,
first of all you need to spend more time with your son. go see a movie or go shopping exclusively with him/for him.Put him in some activities like games or dance or anything he might enjoy.remember the goal here is NOT to learn somthing but ENJOY the activity. this would chanalize his energies maore positivily.
good luck
