Hi,

Today I took my one and half month baby to Doctor for vaccination. As a part of observation Doctor said that my baby heart beat is 160. My baby is also having cold slightly.

Finally Doctor asked me to come for another check up after 3 days. Even after if the heart beat persits 160 he is asking for the tests \" CBP\" , \" CRP\" and \" CXR\" . Can anybody tell me why these tests are for and is that really severe to have the heart beat as 160.

I am very worried about this. If anybody has prior experience like this please do suggest me whether I need to consult any other specialist or what to do.

CRP -C Reactive Protien is a blood test done to check for infection. My daughter had to undergo this test when she was very little (10 days) bcoz of sever cough, she is a healthy 9 month old today. dont worry this is a routine test.

I dont know much abt the others. U could do a google search for these or chk some medical sites..

I know we tend to get really worried when docs ask to get these test done on our babies.. especially when they are so little. But dont hesitate to ask the doctor any questions or doubts u have. I would suggest that u call your doc back and ask him abt these tests
