Unexplained Infertility:Please reply - Need help

To all the wonderful ladies/men out here , this site is simply amazing. I found it by accident and seeing much useful info out here. I have my own share of a emotional roller coaster and believe you guys can help me out. Here is a brief. Age 30 yrs, ttc since last 2.5 yrs. Diagnosed with PCOS 2.5 yrs ago, had been on Glucophage/Metformin twice 1000mg and 1500 from last 1 yr. Diagnosis of PCOS involved blood test which showed harmonal imbalance and scan also. Have tried Clomid 6 cycles, with IUI 3 cycles. Conceived 1 yr ago after quitting Clomid, IUIs... yes conceived naturally but miscarried in 6 weeks. Since periods were turning irregular 3 months after m/c, doc suggested Clomid for 3 cycles, tried no luck. Now went to another doc, she suggested Femara , on it for the first time and today went to doc. She said am ovulating fine and Post Coital test shows good sperm , mucus. Also she did blood tests which show that my harmonal imbalance is has been corrected now. Last 2 months I ovulated natural without Clomid. I use a OPK which is very reliable per dr. So in a way happy that the PCOS is probably corrected.. is it? But we live in US, though both work there is no insurance that covers IVF/IUI. But have a HSA account which pays upto $3500 for these. So probably can use it, not sure what I can do at this point. Go for IUI 3 times using this money or use it for one IVF so it pays atleast half(It cost $7000 here). Since both work here, going to India may not be good considering ticket costs, vacations hours. Since conceived naturally once I believe in God that he will definitely help me one day, may be he is testing me but he will not leave me. But age, pressure from home is making us think in terms of next steps. What would you suggest? What would you do if you were me? Also if anyone has gone thru IVF in US , can you guide me on how you managed to pay it? Is there any insurance that covers it? Thanks ladies much.

Dera Rainbow-

We have gone through same cycle. We know how hard it is. We ended up having IVF. We got a successful IVF on our 2nd cycle. God blessed us with a wonderful baby girl who is one year now. We didn't have a coverage for the first cycle. 2nd one we had complete coverage from CIGNA. It was a miracle. As we completed our cycle our insurance changed and we don't have it any more. I would suggest you to go for IVF. It's bit expensive but, take some loan or something and try for it. Most of the clinics offer some kind of programme where you can try for 3 IVF cycles and in the event of a failure of 3 they will reply 90% of your money. I don't want to see you get your money back , but, I think it would be a successful IVF at very 1st time itself. We got it done through Dr. Perloe in Atlanta. You can visit www dot ivf dot com for more details on the clinic. He is a specialist in IVF and we love his treatment.

Hang in there and Good Luck !!!

Hi rainbow, I am from the UK, just underwent IVF negative result though. I am sorry that you are unable to make a decision. I know a friend in the US from othere fertility sites and she was able to get her insurance to pay for it. My next IVF will be in India as i am not 100% with the doctors in UK. I am sure you will make the right decision in the end. The question you need to think is what are the stats like for the clinic that you are going to?

Hope it helps, good luck

x Nicole

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
