Hi girls
I want to know which is the safe and comfortable sleeping position. So long I had been sleeping on back facing the ceiling, sterday I slept fully on either side but had terrrible stomach pull in the morning. After an hour it went, but I still donno which way to sleep right. Also which side of the tummy is the baby do u know?
Thanks,
Pinky

Hi Pinky,

As per books, we need to sleep on our sides but not on the back. Every one says sleeping on left side is good. I have the same reasons as Sumitha.

I think baby position, I am guessing it shoud be in center. Yesterday when I went to my doc, she put the equiipment on my stomach little towards right to hear the baby heart beat. Probably baby heart and head will be little towards right now at this time of pregnancy. AS your are having twins, so position might vary. You can check this with doctor.

Anu.

Hi Pinky,
I spoke to my doctor abt sleeping a few weeks ago and she told me it was best to sleep on my side(either one but some people say left is better). I have slept on my back all my life but my dr said that it is not good anymore as the baby puts pressure on your spinal cord that way and that hinders the blood flow to the brain.
Try using 2 pillows under ur head( if u use one) as some elevation is good too if u are having trouble falling asleep. If u ever wake up in the middle of the night and find that u are on ur back, DO NOT panic. Just slowly turn over to ur side.
My Mother-in-law told me that it i better to sleep on the left side as ur heart is on the left and that helps blood flow, but I am yet to confirm that with my dr. I have to go to her on the 15 of May, I will ask her then.
As for the pull, in ur stomach it might have been a muscle spasm but I am not sure.
I also don't know where the exact postion of the baby is but when I had my first ultrasound, they chked mostly in the center.
I hope that I have been of some help.
Take care
Sumita
