Hi all...

Kich has started biting!! My nipples have gone for a toss! Dad felt his gums y'day and was saying one pearly is just under the gum. His gums are swollen now and he's only interested in chewing and biting, not feeding...

He bites the spoon when we feed him cerelac, the nipple of the f/bootle, bites and chews on my nipple, when i BF.

His intake has reduced 'coz of this and he's cranky with the pain. Plus he's getting a mild cold and cough!!

Is there any cream/ medicine to reduce his discomfort? He cant take a \";cold teether\"; 'coz of his cough and cold..My aunt asked me to use a pacifier, but i'm scared he'll get dependent!

Help! Please.

I had read that here in US, parents can give their baby some Tylenol( acetaminophen) to relieve discomfort, but not sure what its equivalent is in India.
Can you see the swollen gums, is it possible to miss seeing signs of teething in a baby?

I too will need to know more tips to handle teething for Yash.
I saw pics of Kich, he sure is a chubby baby, ht and wt wise he is exactly as much as Yash is.

- Jayashree Reena replied. Hi Padma- RIshu is going thru exactly the same phase. Its actually very very painful for them specially at night time. I am in the US and am putting Orajel cream on his gums to soothe him. Had taken him to the doc who confirmed that he is teething..nice feeling but painful for both baby and parents...was reading somewhere that Teething is nature's way of playing a joke on us as by this time babies usually have a sleep sch which of course is totally screwed up when they teeth..so just when yu feel that yu have a control on yr life in terms of sleep its gets bad again!!:))
Rishu is also not feeding acche se and is cranky all the time...try and give Kich anything and everything to bite on..Rishu loves our fingers too as he can manouver it as much as he likes :) He takes my finger and shoves it into his mouth...and after that its just a waiting game!!

Wow Kich is growing fast...already teething haan..I don't know about ointments but my friend who's also a dentist had told me about clove oil which could be applied on babies gums..will make the itching better.Ask your doctor though before applying anything.

Actually after reading your post i think i need to check megha's gums too..'coz she has been behaving pretty similar to Kich..biting on everything and not feeding too well and she's cranky too .
