Due Date Club November 2003:Breast pump

Hey Girls,

Has anyone of you already bought breastpump? If you did, did you buy Medela pump in style? Has anyone bought this from fjroberts(.)com? I know someone had mentioned this here before that they are selling for $100 less. But, when I went to the website, I felt something was fishy there. If anyone bought it from this side, please tell me if you got it on time and with all the accessories.
Thanks for your inputs in advance.

Hi everyone ,

I am also a bit confused about which one to buy. Bhargavi from the Oct board mentioned that she used the manual one first abd after finding it quite painful she shifted to Medella electric ..pump in style..I was planning to buy it a few months later after I am sure as I will be with the baby for the first four months..Any sugesstions..pls advise if you all think we should keep a breast pump handy before delivery ...Thanks.

Cheers - Ritu

Subject:  you can wait

Hey Ritu, I was told in my breastfeeding class that you can wait for a little while before you buy the pump..

We need a breast pump 1. if we plan on going back to work soon after the having the baby 2. if the breasts get full really quickly (meaning we make lots of milk -breast engorgement) we will need to use the pump..and it does take a while before we really start producing milk (full scale)..

Since you are planning on being with the baby for a while, in my opinion, you can wait for a while before you buy the pump.. and yes, a hand pump can be quite frustrating and so an electric one would be a better option..

I, myself was planning on holding on till the baby is out to buy a pump..cause some women dont make enough milk and will need to put the baby on formula sooner than women who make lots of milk... so we can never say how it going to be...

Hope this helps..

Hi Arshiya,

Radhika from October board had referred this web-site. I am not sure if I would buy it from there. I've decided to buy it from www(.)bareware(.)net. It's a canadian web-site, but if you pay in US dollars/funds, it comes to about 205$. Since I read this information on SF Chronicle, I do trust them.

Hope this helps,
Vindhya

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
