Shy Kids:Doesnt play/mix with other kids
2006-06-27
Name: kb

i got a 2.5 li'l kid, who has been going to day care/creche for last one year. She has not started speaking, nor does she play with other kids. She loves to be around kids, but, is more comfortable with elders. Am not sure, if its a common phenomenon.

There is this problem with my daughter also,But now there is some improvement.
I was told to provide her longer outings with other kids in a playground or parks ...places like that.

hi..babies always feel secure with elders.. they always have a fear that they will be harmed by other children or so..
try to be with them when they are with other kids in the park.. so that they learn slowly how to mingle with other little ones.. Late speakers are good observers also.. if u still feel..its too late.. then cosult ur paeditrician.. even myself a mother of 16 months old.. has started speaking at the age of 3.1 yr..so don't worry.

RE:Shyness right or wrong?
According to me you should take your child to a counselor and ask her what is the exact problem as this is not common and you should get into it as soon as possible and understand the real reason behind the same, please do not ignore this its a request.... - Anaida [View Message]
RE:Shyness right or wrong?
Hello dear this is really nothing to worry as its very common and you should not take this matter as a big concern as kids at this age are normally shy and they do not like meeting new people infact they want only their friends and all with them.... - Anita [View Message]
