Dear all
i have been reading queries on the board about ppl who have started solids. It is fine to start cereal at 4 months solids meaning cereal not pureed food. The baby will give you clues as to when to start for example baby is holing his head up.... drinks mlore the 24-32oz in 24 hours looks interested in eating when you are eating something. Rice cereal in the best and recommended first food the oat and then last barley wheat is forbidden due to it being a highly allergenic food
I see many here are giving baby rice cereal at nnight or evennings i feel it is better to give mid morning or mid afternoon this way baby will digest the food through the day as rice is a lil heavier then formula or bm.
Better to start veg and fruit puree at 5 months after baby is used to the cereal thickness and is swallowing the food better introduce diff variety every 3-5 days and look out for signs of distress
veg start yellow then green alternate btwn yellow and green veg as too much yellow veg will give baby yellow tint of skin.
Dont rush baby into too many foods i think better to start slowly take your time and allow baby to get used to things slowly. Baby will be eating food his whole life
Priya

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
