Hi Kavitha,

Yes, I too find this form very quiet. What is everyone doing?

I've just settled back in India after my trip from the US last week and have found a doc here. I'm right now in my 34th week and find it difficult to spend long periods of time on my feet as my ankles get swollen very easily. Sleeping at night too has become a problem. It's so difficult to turn from side to side - I do feel baby's movements, most of them are above the navel and very few movements below. I wonder if it's because the baby's head is lodged at the bottom already. Do you girls know as to whne that normally happens?

What about your shopping for babie's items? Does anyone have a list of things to keep ready for the hospital. I had one, but have misplaced it amidst all the shifting from the US, so if one of you has a list, please post it on this board.

And wake up girls, there's not much time left.... We are all going to be busy after our babies are born, so let's make the best use of this time to share our experiences and learn all we can about the entire process.

Venita.

Hi Kavita,
Thanks for your reply. I haven't been able to get on the net easily here, hence the delay in replying.

I'm just settling down to life here in India. Am in Blore and have found a doc who is good, I think. It is a little

difficult switching docs at this late a stage, and am hoping that the doc will be as patient and understanding as the one I

used to meet while in the Us. Regarding having the baby in India, my husband and I chose to do so for various reasons, the

primary being proximity to family. Airlines allow travel till 36 weeks, and since I'd travelled at 33, everything was okay

on that front. Over here, i've been getting more exercise in the form of walking, but like you have started getting swollen

feet and hands. I've been told to drink a lot of water for it and it seems to be helping.

The itching (i too have it occasionally) may be due to stretching - you could keep putting some body lotion to keep the skin moisturized.

All the best for your delivery - keep us informed of how things go. Take care.

Venita.

Hi Venita,

Nice to hear back from you. How was your journey to India..I have heard most of the airlines do not allow preggos to travel after 30th weeks. So wanted to ask you one question..why have you decided to give birth in India?
I am into my 37th weeks now. I have started having a lot of problems too. My entire body itch like hell and I also have swollen feet and hands. I hope things will get better soon as only few days have left for the delivery. As far as baby's movements are concerned I don't think baby drop occurs before 38th weeks. I don't feel that my baby has dropped into my pelvic area yet. My doctor was telling that baby's mvmnts are less at this point because the baby does not have much space to move as before, that's why the movmnts are not very obvious.

I have finished most of the shopping. But I haven't packed for the hospital yet. Will do that in a day or two. Where in India are you located? and How'z your new doctor? Wish you all the best for everything. Take care,
Kavita

Kidney
Hello:
My 20 week ultrasound also showed an enlarged kidney. The good news is that since it is only one side, chances are that he will \";grow out of it\"; and if there's a problem it will resolve itself. I would suggest going back in 4 weeks from when you had the first to see if the kidney is of normal proportion. I went back for the next one, and the ultrasoun... - CNoel [View Message]

just an advice
Hey Kavita,

I'd say you get the ultrasound done so you will be able to see what is going on. Vaginal ultrasound is a good idea too.

Take care,
