Dear ALL, MY kid 2 1/2 yrs., starts her preKG since june 7th,2006. For the first three days she did not cry till she enters the class and nowadays she is crying as soon as we start from home itself. However, i'll handover her& bag to the relevant teacher and wait at the outside. She stops crying after 10-15 mins and she will keep on standing near the window for 2 to 2 1/2 hrs, without crying. I am scared whether she stops her crying and attend to her class. Please anyone help me and let me know some ways to prepare her mentally. spd replied. hey this is in case she doesn't have any genuine problem. try finding out if she cried because of someone's behaviour towards her or some other inconvenient circumstances which you may not be aware of. if its only your departure that saddens her reinforce that you are there for her :) spd replied. this technique involves saying the thing (prepairing the child) before doing anything to/with the child! tell her before putting her to bed. be positive. tell her all the gud points positively and enthusiasitically. try doing the same while she is asleep. hope it works.
