Due Date Club July 2005:poll- sleeping through the night

Hey,
lets have a poll for the baby sleeping through the night.
Arjun is 4.5 months old and he started waking up three times during night so getting a good night sleep seems far away.
What about your little ones? How are you trying to make them sleep through the night. I am planning to give Formula to my lil one when he wakes up in the middle of the night. What about you?

Soumya replied. Hi friends,
My daughter Nandana has completed her fifth month now. Her sleeping pattern is also almost similar to what all of you have stated here. She sleeps off by 9.30-10, and I see to it that I feed her properly before she sleeps (usually formula). Then around 12.30-1, she wakes up, I feed (BM), and she sleeps till 5.30-6. This time, she stays awake for a longer while, about 1-1 1/2 hours, and then sleeps again, after a feed. Though she follows this pattern almost everyday, there are days (maybe once a week or so), when she wakes up for an extra feed at night. Anyways, I have noticed that if we keep her awake in the afternoon, after 3-4, she sleeps for 4-5 hours in a stretch at night.
Love,
Soumya.

this is a very good topic to discuss.
my daughter Trisha is sleeping maximum 5 hrs sleep at a strech. usually she use to sleep around 10pm. but when the daylight saving time changed now she is sleeping at 8to 9pm itself.
so after doing all the works it takes 11pm for me to sleep. what i do is, i will feed at 11pm when i go to bed. she wont wake up. next she will wake up around 4 to 5am. again after feeding she will sleep immediately then her \";GOOD MORNING MAMA\"; time is 7am everyday. she will wake up before us and she will be playing with her mobile in her crib.i have a remote of the mobile to ON. so i will ON when she wakes up immediately, then she will be laughing and babble something with her mobile. i will get extra 30mins sleep while she is playing with her mobile.
Pri, as u told my daugher also use to wake up like u said. she did for 2 nights.now she is OK(touchwood). try to feed her fully before she is sleeping also i use to give her warm bath around 8pm everyday.so try warm bath this will help to sleep 4 to 5 hr strech.
now all our baby's sleeping pattern is almost similar. every baby is reacting like same. compared to early days(right after delivery) now we get some good night sleeps.
hey, no one replied me, does anyone knows where organic olive oil is availbale?? in which store???
ok then takecare

Sudha replied. Hi Arti,
Advait sleeping pattern is more or less getting fixed. He sleeps for night sometime between 11-12midnight and then as per feed he had taken before sleep, wake up between 4-5am. During this time I feed him and he go sleep again and wakes up only when I wake him up in the morning sometime around 7am.
So in this way I get good 6hrs sleep in the night which is more then sufficient for me.
Lets see what others have to say?

Dear Pri,
He is waking up becox of hunger, r u doing BM during night? If yes, make sure you ahve enough supply. I will share my exper., as I know supply has reduced, till 10am or so I feed him outside milk so that I can feed him enough for night. Whenever I had less, I noticed he waking up in just 2hrs gap instead of 3-5hrs gap.
Hope this will help...

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

HI Gayathri,
I used the puzzles, the wooden blocks for alphabets and numbers.... - Sheetal [View Message]
try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
