Hi Renu
I think you'll get good hospitals in india. I was raised in india and had my baby in the UK and had hell of a time. I had a C-section and was expected to change and bathe my baby and carry his to get my own breakfast the very next morning. I guess what matters is that you find a reputed place, ask your doctor about it and visit the place before you actually go for delivery. And always get second opinions from friends or locals.
cheers
Sonali.

Subject:  delivery in mumbai

I was in England for the first few months of my pregnancy but came down to India (mumbai) to deliver as I knew nothing about babies and felt it would be easier with my parents nearby. The only problems here are:
1. They do not allow you to spend quality time immediately after the deliver. I had a normal delivery with an extremely healthy baby boy and had to wait 3 hours before I could properly hold him!
2. The first few days in hospital the nurses would bathe my son and I didn't like their off-handed manner about doing it.
Other than that the facilities are good and adequate care is taken.

Hi ,

You are understandably concerened. But please don't be. There are very hospitals in India too . Please mention which city you are in so that women who have delivered in these cities can tell you which are good.In fact , I know lots of people from abroad who come to India for specific treatment like eye and heart surgery - like Apollo in Chennai. So pregnancy and childbirth is much easier than that.

The good thing here is that you will have family to help you take care of the baby .

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
