Im from the Dec board and have been diagnosed with GD. Inspite of my diet my sugar levels seem to be fluctuating even after 1 week. I dont get the same readings everyday inspite of the same diet and no changes. Any ideas and suggestions ?

Levels will vary...depends on how your metabolism is on that day. I have noticed that my levels are higher on days I am tired, and therefore not as active.
Make it a point to excercise after your meals. You have probably talked to a dietician....see if you can change your eating pattern after talking to her. For eg. The initial diet I was given was to have larger lunch and dinner and smaller breakfast and snacks...that did not work for me ( lunch and dinner). I tried a few diff., diets on my own and found that I could'nt eat more than 30g carbs per meal. So I talked to my dietician, adn we revised my diet...I now have 6 x 30g meals. That has worked really well, and I don't have to take any insulin.
My only advice is to that don't be afraid to try a few diff things. Give yourself and your body a little bit of time to adjust to small portion sizes.

Sorry to hear that your blood sugars have been fluctuating so much. Sometimes different foods react in different ways, and as your doctor probably told you, insulin resitance goes up as pregnancy advances.

I am taking insulin shots everyday these days and believe me, they are not bad at all. Infact they hurt much less than the finger poking. let me know in case you ever want to talk about this.
