Unexplained Infertility:Sperm count

Hi,

I visited a urology doctor for an annual check up (I had a kidney stone last year) and he diagnosed me having left varicocele after physical examination. I'm 31 years old.
Consequently he sent me for a semen analysis.

The results of my semen analysis were:

Count: 17 Million/ml
Volume: 3ml
Morphology normal: 80%
Progressive 30:
Non progressive 20%
Non motile 50%
T.M.F.S. 20

My doctor is suggesting that I should definitely go for a surgical repair if I plan to be father ( and I do really )

Is surgery necessary in my case or could I conceive normally without any aid?

Hi uxmal

please dont get worried about this surgery, its very minor surgerry, you have to be in hospital for one or two days.
My husband had this same problem. We tried for our second child for 2 yrs without no result, finally our doc found out that my hubby had varicocle in his left, and told him to undergo one surgery, which he did this august 2004,he had very low sperm count 26 million and 10% motility.go this this website for detials

IVF via Donor Sperm
Hi, we are planning for ivf via donor sperm as we have genetic history wherein my daughter is ASD and mine own brother is ADHD hence genetic counselor said there is risk of 15-20 percent of child being autistic if we use our own gamet. If male child is born the risk is higher than a girl child.

Hence we thought to go for donor sperm. But there is still... - SS [View Message]
