Hi everyone,
Its been 7 weeks now and STILL no weight gain, although after most tests the doc says the baby's alright, funnily my stomach just seems to protrude out almost everyday! The measurements seem to increase but it doesnt show on the scale! Also my appetite has decreased BIG time! I cant seem to push myself to eat too much although I know I need to. I have come down to one chapati per meal from 2. I want to puke if I push myself to eat more than that!
Hey Jaya you said you were having a similar problem with the no weight-gain part, any luck there? what did ur doc say? Also, my BP levels are still fluctuating and now I have just begun my 36th week so the doc says that we'll take a call on the 16th, that is if my body doesnt behave itself then we might have to induce an early labor, she said no point waiting till term, she wants to wait till I reach my 37th week and then decide if we should have the baby earlier. I SO BADLY wanted a november baby cos my Bday's in Nov too! Anyways, anything to ensure the baby's good health and that comes above everything.
Guys do u think i have anything to worry about? I mean the fact that I havent put on any weight for so long u think it would affect the baby in any way? Please tell me its alright??
Must say its always so re-assuring to share ur thoughts and fears with people in the same boat as u, I look forward to reading everyone's messages everyday. Looking forward to staying in touch with everyone even after the babies come!

Vindhya replied. Hi Vaishali,
Sorry to hear about your situation. Don't force yourself on those chapatis if you feel like puking. It's better to digest one at a time rather than taking two and vomiting. Do some exercise or walk after you eat, so it digests soon. Have a chapati after every 1-2 hours. It helps your heartburn too. You already know this, and I am repeating the same.
If you are unable to have a whole glass of milk, have 2 spoons of evaporated milk(milkmaid?) every two hours or so. Have completely healthy food, even if the quantity is less, that should keep you and your baby going. Hope you are taking your vitamins as well.
I wouldn't worry too much, as the doctor says that the baby is fine. In an ideal case, women increase proportionally, but not everyone can be ideal, it differs from person to person. I think the baby is taking all your weight, which is good.
Control your salt intake, so as to control your BP, don't stress out. Is anyone taking care of you at home(apart from hubby), hope you don't have to cook at this time. Sometimes cooking makes us lose appetite. Sometimes, I don't feel like eating what I cook.
Hope the baby stays put and arrives on/after your due date. It's good to share the same month or same birthday with your baby, and I will be praying that your BP comes under control, and you start eating well, and the baby arrives in November.
Finally, we have to do what the doctor says for the baby's sake. Be positive.
Take care,
Vindhya

I am going to go for a checkup on monday.I don't feel like as if I have gained weight. In this week, once I had bad loose motions. So I am scared to think that my weight might have decreased.I will give u my update and what the doc says on monday. My doc is not worried much.So I feel u also should not worry much, otherwise your BP levels will fluctuate.
Take care,
Jaya
Avi replied. Vaishali, I agree with Priya, if the doc says its ok, you shouldn't be worrying too much..
I would suggest you eat small meals every 2 hrs..and yeah, eat protein rich food and cut down on carbs.. carbs tend to fill you up too...
Ya know, they say that the little one is the perfect parasite, he/she will take whatever is needed from the mom's body.. so again, you are lucky that your stomach is growing like it should and the doc says that the baby is just fine... so :) and relax... stressing out will only make your BP levels rise higher...
Dont worry about being induced... look at it like you will get to see your baby sooner and yeah, like you said you have to do it whatever is in the baby's best interest.
relax and concentrate on controlling your BP levels so that you can have your Nov baby... high BP might lead to your water breaking, I guess that's why your doc wants to induce.. so please do rest and relax and dont stress out....
and feel free to vent.... we are all here for you.. :)
Priya replied. Hi,
I have'nt been putiing on too much weight since week 29 ( I'm at 35 1/2 now). I am on a GD diet, and as soon as I went on it, I promptly lost 3 lbs.! Then I gained it back over the next few weeks. Now it has almost plateaued off. My fundal height measures OK, and our recent US shows that baby is doing just fine...not too big, not too small.
So I would'nt worry too much about the weight gain. If you cannot eat a lot in one sitting, increase the no. of meals you are having. Try to have high protein instead of high carb. The baby has its own ways of gaining weight.
Good luck with controlling that BP!

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.
