Due Date Club July 2005:Arjun's 4 months update
2005-11-12
Name: Arti

Hey everyone,
How are you all and how are your lil ones? got out of touch for a while due to the struggle to find a balance between home and work. Finally getting a chance to sit and write down to all of you while hubby is changing the baby and putting him to sleep.
Meanwhile it was nice to read everyone's messages today and get to know whats going on with some of you.
Arjun had his 4 months dr. appointment this Tuesday. He weighed 13.5 lbs and his height was 25.75 cms. His Dr advised us to start the solids only when he is 5-6 months old and try to grab food from our plate. So we are waiting for that big milestone.
Arjun is holding his neck comfortably now a days and leaning forward trying to sit on his own. He started sitting comfortable with support but rolls over to his sides only occassionaly. Looks like he is more interested in sitting than rolling over.
He is making all kinds of noises using his tounge and his sleep pattern is drastically changed. He is waking up frequently during night for feedings and thats making hard for me to get good sleep at night considering I have to go to work early morning.
I am going to work 4 days a week and working from home every Thursdays. I have also started giving around 3 ounces formula to Arjun occasionally, like once a day or once in two days mixed with some breast milk.
He knows me very well now and wants me to be around him and want to suck even when he is done. I think this could be due to the fact that I am away from him for sometime during the day.
He is doing all the interesting things- which I will write in detail later, meanwhile keep sending the updates on your side.

Take care
Arti

Hi Arti,

Good to know Arjun' update. I beleive Ht. you have mentioned is not correct :-)

Few points to make here:
1. You said he is sitting comfortably with support. If you are doing it occasionally, should be ok but if frequent then think over it again. As I feel we should give more time for his back to get strong instead of putting load on it.
2. Occasionally Rolling over should be ok, it depends on baby to baby and I have noticed normally girls and lighter weight baby do all this activities quicker then other babies.
3. You mentioned that night he takes feed frequently. Are you sure you are having sufficient supply? As I have noticed in my case, whenever supply is less, I have to feed him in 3hrs gap otherwise one feed hold good for him for 5hrs (for night).
I am also going for his Ped appointment tomorrow and hopefully will post his update by evening.

Take care,
Sudha

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
