my sons dr asked me to give him egg...but as i am pure veg.. dont know which form of egg is best for 29 months old kid..how to select egg from market..is eggs to be kept in fridge..as i am in US ...I HAD KEEP IN FRIDGE after 2 days i removed to see among them some cracked and were frozen from inside .and 1 egg per day should i give him and what time is good to give egg...pl tell every informations on egg..as i am veg... Hetal replied. 1. buy the grade A or grade AA eggs only.
2. while buying check the date on it.
3. buy in small quantity,,
4. never put it in the refrigerator door, put it on the top shelf,,if your fridge has 9 settings, your cold settings should be at 4-5. not more or less.
5. store them in its original packs only.
6.while buying, make sure to open the box of eggs and check all are in one piece nd not broken. while bringing to home,make sure that they arent broken,,,etc.
7. if you are buying from open market, buy the eggs that are exact oval shape, irrspective of colour, and doesnt have ne patterns on the white cover of the eggs..
get the organics ones or get the ones that is approved by fda ratings or ne such organztns.
eggs are good for health,,as far as they are not provng allergic to your child and your child is not facng ne heat rashes or constipatn probs,,its perfectly fine to give !
best time to offer is in breakfast, offer a good omellete(beat the egg, add in salt, some boiled vegies if your child likes or just some coriander) and thn put it on the pan that is on medium heat.
the second you can give is boiled egg,,if you are in US, and you dont mind spending some 4-7$, you get an egg cooker, microwave one,that makes around 4 eggs in 10mins or so,...good to go ! easy to use and no hazzles !
for one egg, you will need to put for around 4mins or so...no need to boil water for 1 lil thing !
its available in all stores,,mostly seen in places like walmart and such stores.
other things, you can do is mash the boiled egg yolk n put it in rice or dal mixture and offer, and let the whites be the part of vegie curry. msotly because kids dont like to eat boiled yolks..
you can also offer egg burji/scramble it while it cooks and throw in some cheese or boiled vegies,,a great snack ! these are simplest ones,,other recipes you can find in feeding board, browse thru the history and you will get some really good sites that were posted sometime back or leave me your id, i will send you the links !
so thats all i can help you with,,make sure to buy the eggs that are packed in small packs and are stored in malls in proper cold temperatures...
