Hey guys, I was thinking of getting a bassinet(that you can move around the house) for the first few months and then getting a crib (when the baby is big enough for it)....

I know Arshiya bought the crib already, but does anyone have any input as to what would be a good option..

Avi,
We actually went for a smaller sized crib.....we went back and forth with the bassinet, then decided that there was no advantage in buying it when it will last only a couple of months.

Hi Priya, I've been looking at cribs that seem to be too big and shallow for a small baby.. but yesterday I did see some small cribs on babiesRus's website.that looked quite nice. and it sure sounds like a cool idea too..

Hey,

I know, even bassinet is a good idea so you can move around for first 3 months. Since, I have two story house, I couldn't do that anyway. Thatswhy I bought a crib for upstairs and playpen with bassinet and changing table for downstairs. But, if you are in once story, bassinet surely is a good idea for first couple of months.

Your idea is great indeed and very convenient for your 2 storied place...
A playpen with a bassinet is cool idea indeed... I might go for it too... I looked at playpens and bassinets at sears and their selection was quite limited... I am sure babiesRus will have more of them....
Moreover, since I will living in an apartment for atleast the next 6 months or so... a bassinet will surely will be a better idea...
